Tom invites himself to become a member of the gang, much to the annoyance of Amber (leader of the group), but to the delight of the others (unfortunately, Sally isn't ever invited to join the adventures due to her illness) so that he can take over some of the chores that Robin and Amber are limited by, and George just to lazy to do.I’m impressed by Mr Walliams ability to craft such memorable characters and have us care about them so much within the constraints of a children’s book that’s over far too soon. Readers find this romp through a 44-floor hospital to be reminiscent of books by Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstein.
