I kept wondering what the heck was happening, who was really who, and how different scenarios might be in play. It’s naturally got the mountains and the wonderful coastline, some of those locations could look like California or some of the beaches in Australia. Gone, her seventh novel, won the Edgar Allen Poe Award and her novel Wolf was nominated for Best Novel in the 2015 Edgar Awards, and is currently being adapted for the BBC. Part of the "Walking Man" series within the series, as always it featured compelling characters, a dark and violent mystery and some truly shivery moments. We have a convoluted plot that uses as its backdrop the visceral – in all senses of the word – murder of two teenagers 14 years previously, where a killer was brought to justice.

Kristoffer Nyholm directed the first three episodes, with Lee Haven Jones directing the final three. This book, for me, was probably her least sickening but most thrilling read and had one of the most shocking and unanticipated twists to the ending that had me gaping at it until long after I had turned the last page. On the surface, it’s a crazy, cruel comedic scene but it reveals how, on different levels, people can be and what they want from each other. The other reason was pure spite - Lucia wanted to murder them for sending her away and for "ruining everything". So the author was like 'i'm gonna tell this story and in between chapters i'm gonna interject some Jack Caffery Issues' just urgh.

And it is here that she shows her enormous understanding of human nature under the most intense pressure in a gripping and completely believable story of three people battling horrific circumstances. Sacha Dhawan who plays Honey, says: "We first meet Honey and Molina at the beginning of the series when they con their way into the Anchor-Ferrers home.

The series stars Ukweli Roach as Jack Caffery, the detective originated in Mo Hayder's novels, and is a genre-bending thriller which also features the likes of Sacha Dhawan and Iwan Rheon in its impressive cast. There were so many things about the series that I felt an affinity with so when I did get the part, I didn’t believe my agent. Although I found it frustrating to not know how certain storylines panned out I really enjoyed this book and Mo Hayders’ style. But the hints of other crimes Tempe’s identification uncovers, particularly crimes against children, spur her on to redouble her efforts despite the new M. With this one, they go into such an extreme situation right at the beginning that they’re always in a nightmarish and extremist situation.Lucy Mangan of The Guardian awarded the first episode four stars out of five, praising the performances and unpredictable narrative.

The cast of Wolf is led by The Midwich Cuckoos star Ukweli Roach, while Doctor Who’s Sacha Dhawan and Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon both also take on major roles. If you were getting slightly weary of the whole Jack/Flea storyline, never fear, she’s not in this one, but still in Jack’s thoughts. The six-part run is set in both Wales and London and features an immersive soundtrack, but viewers will likely be most struck by the twisting, turning storyline, which leads to a shocking culmination. The mounting evidence of ever more and ever worse skulduggery will pull Tempe deeper and deeper down what even she sees as a rabbit hole before she confronts a ringleader implicated in “Drugs. Detective Inspector Jack Caffrey (Ukweli Roach) and his dog investigate in Wolf, a six-part thriller.

It all weaves back to Monmouthshire where, a few days earlier, a family of caricature toffs, the Anchor-Ferrers, fled in the opposite direction, leaving their London pad for residence in their country pile, which happens to be very close to the donkey pitch. Having discovered just who Molina was and how unhinged he could be, Honey knew he had to get away from the house for his own safety - however, before he left, a final stab of conscience meant he tried to save the Anchor-Ferrers family. Another draw to this project would be filming in Wales, it’s been a joy and I really adore the crews. Mo Hayder is a master of ratcheting up tension throughout a book—to the point that one must simply finish it before doing anything else. Not only is there an inordinate amount of tension throughout, but you can rest assured that if someone is to be tortured or murdered, the author will always pay the greatest attention to shock value, including the most artistic use of intestines you will surely encounter.

We’re delighted to have attracted such an amazing cast into our wonderfully entertaining crime/horror world!
