About this deal

Last year I had the pleasure of reading a copy of The Charm Offensive and when it instantly became one of my all-time favorite romances, I knew I needed more from Alison Cochrun. I searched rights reports hoping to see an announcement for another book and found out she was writing a sapphic Christmas rom-com??? To say I was excited about this release would be a massive understatement. Even then, I was not ready for how this book would surpass my incredibly high expectations. Ellie was a decent protagonist. Her social anxiety was very well portrayed! That was definitely my favourite thing about this book! Has stomachaches just thinking about social situations, doesn’t leave the house unless necessary, never has plans, gets nervous even when hanging out with friends… It was very a realistic depiction of social anxiety! Did you Venmo me that money?” my mother starts as soon as the call connects. It’s abundantly clear that no, I did not Venmo her the money, or else Lindsey Oliver would have no reason to call me. One thing to love about romances is there’s no spoiling the end, at least not in a general sense. We know these two queer women end up making it work and get their happily-ever-after, because otherwise it wouldn’t qualify for the genre. The joy in reading an awesome romance like this one is the journey along the way and the specific ways that the book explores familiar themes and tropes. In that way, Kiss Her Once for Me is a truly stellar example of not just a holiday romance or a queer romance, but of any kind of romance because it’s so good at playing with genre expectations and at building fully realized leads who have character arcs separate but complementary to the love story. Plus, have I mentioned it is really fun and really gay?

Fans of Alison Cochrun's debut, The Charm Offensive, will love her new queer romance . . . . Read this sexy, insightful, and utterly charming book.Mark from Byrdstown, TnThis is the greatest Christmas song of all time.I dont care what anybody says,it is.Case closed.

I could always fly down to Phoenix,” I offer pathetically. So very pathetically. Just a twenty-five-year-old woman, begging her mother to spend Christmas with her. So, overall, I didn’t enjoy their relationship in the past (insta-love just isn’t for me), and I also didn’t care about them in the present (every moment they had was awkward, cheesy and forced). Basically, this romance gave me NOTHING.

I enjoyed this book a lot even though I have a very low tolerance for reading about 20-somethings who don’t have their lives together! It was fun and engaging, and the explorations of the main characters’ various traumas/issues and how they drove their behaviour and affected their relationships were nuanced and thoughtful. Although I also just finished Season of Love, which maybe did that a little better? It’s all a blur to me now.

i truly love the moment queer romcoms are having right now. i love how unabashedly tropey they can be. and this book has one of my favorite romantic moments from the original film: family urging the secretly-attracted couple to kiss under the mistletoe! oh my god it's so cute. we also have snowed-in forced proximity, which is delicious. Her claims of providing for my basic needs are greatly exaggerated. When I was twelve, I’d asked my mother for money for new art supplies. Linds hadn’t taken it well. Classic romance set up (broke artist is offered chance to fake-marry rich boy who only gets his inheritance if he's married) but in this case the broke artist is still in love with her one night stand of a year ago, who turns out to be the rich boy's sister. Ellie’s relationship with her abusive mum was definitely interesting. It shows that even though someone is obviously manipulative and draining, it can still be hard to cut them out of your life. Believe me, I tried to come up with reasonable theories for this mishap. The most logical one would be that the demi part was added later, either as a selling point or after The Charm Offensive became so popular. But the thing is, it is integrated into the story. It's not just the mc sprinkling it into one convo. It comes up several times, and the mc says time and time again that she's not this type of person, she doesn't go home with people after the first date, she doesn't have one night stands etc. Clearly, it is part of the conflict, so I doubt it was inserted only later.Beautifully tender and delightfully sexy, Kiss Her Once for Me is the holiday romance of my dreams. A cozy, cinnamon-scented hug of a book. -Ashley Herring Blake, author of Delilah Green Doesn't Care There is almost an inch of snow on the ground, so naturally, the entire city is on the verge of collapse. I don’t know if I’d strongly recommend this book since it had Her rant is really starting to build now. “For eighteen years,” she laments, “I clothed you! I fed you! I kept a roof over your head!” Mike from Franklin County, PaBurl Ives sang this song in the Rankin - Bass animated t.v. christmas special : "Rudolf , The Red - Nosed Reindeer" , while doing the voice of "Sam the Snowman" . He also sang the theme song , sang "Silver and Gold" , and narrated the story . Burl Ives is also known for his two popular songs on a 45 - speed record : "Pearly Shells" and "Little Bitty Tears" .

don’t get me wrong, i hate that i didn’t like this because it’s about lesbians!!!! that’s literally me!!!! i’ll begin by listing the things i liked because they’re (sadly) few and far between. Believe me, Alison, this story is a gem (I’ve already said that twice, didn’t I?), and I will gulp down every book you write from now on at a furious pace! Sonny from Podunk, FlFor many years, Burl's music provided the ambiance for friendly card games (particularly Spades) throughout the deep South. It is also considered a time-honored method of "therapy" for mental health patients the world over. Charlie is far from the romantic Prince Charming Ever After expects. He doesn’t believe in true love, and only agreed to the show as a last-ditch effort to rehabilitate his image. In front of the cameras, he’s a stiff, anxious mess with no idea how to date twenty women on national television. Behind the scenes, he’s cold, awkward, and emotionally closed-off.Dev Deshpande has always believed in fairy tales. So it’s no wonder then that he’s spent his career crafting them on the long-running reality dating show Ever After. As the most successful producer in the franchise’s history, Dev always scripts the perfect love story for his contestants, even as his own love life crashes and burns. But then the show casts disgraced tech wunderkind Charlie Winshaw as its star. But I’m always alone, have always been alone, and just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean there’s any reason for that to change. You can feel just as lost and aimless at Christmas as any other time of the year.
