All of a sudden the small child falls, while the other tries to catch her, the girl trying to reach for her companion as well but ultimately failing. As she splashes into the water, she tries once again to reach for her companion only to get a fistful of the lilies that were floating on the surface. Vannak ugye azok a krimik, amiben az olvasó csak azt tudja, amit a nyomozó észlel (lásd Agatha Christie legtöbb regényét), és mondhatni, ez az igazán korrekt eljárás, mert (elméletileg) egyenlő esélyekkel indulnak a rejtvényfejtésben. Bussi más utat választ, a nyomozók mellett párhuzamosan több szálat is futtat, és olyan információkat is megoszt velünk, amelyeket szerencsétlen zsernyákokkal nem. Ez azonban csak első blikkre versenyelőny, mert ahogy caplatunk előre a szövegben, olybá tűnik, ezek a többletinformációk nem visznek előrébb, inkább csak összezavarnak minket – mintha a mennyiség nem minőségbe, hanem káoszba csapna át. De ez a káosz – helyesebb volna talán termékeny homálynak nevezni – nem vesz el az olvasás értékéből, inkább valami bizsergető izgalommal hajt előre bennünket a szövegben, ő a kocsis, aki az ostorával noszogatja az olvasót, hogy gyí, te olvasó, gyí, nincs már messze a megoldás.

To be honest, it is at this point that I almost put down the book. That young girl of almost eleven is described as a woman. The graphic novel starts with the phrase “Three woman lived in Givenry”. The almost eleven year old is at various point in the opening panels drawn as an adult, in adult stylized, slightly sexualized poses. We are told that all boys wanted her to be their girlfriend. Once again, Michel Bussi, created magic with this book, where I'm left with no words to describe or express my feelings towards this book, as it is so irresistible beyond my own imagination, I mean, how can someone create something so addictive yet dark, just like a deadly drug? The author is a true genius when it comes to crime thrillers, even his previous book, After the Crash was a captivating thriller. Kevés krimit olvasok, ezt előrebocsátom. És mivel keveset, ezért módomban áll válogatni: csak azok kerülnek kezembe, amelyekről jó recenziókat találtam, vagy nagyon megragadott a fülszövegük. Elvárásaim is karcsúak velük szemben: egyfajta méregtelenítés, vagy ha úgy tetszik, gyomormosás, ha megülte az emésztőrendszeremet a honi szépirodalom. Mindez persze nem akadályoz meg abban, hogy határozott véleményem legyen velük kapcsolatban, sőt, uram bocsá' kategorizáljam őket. De akárhogy is: ez a krimi nekem bejött.And for all my doubts, I did find the final chapters to be truly moving. And I can’t say that about many books in any genre. It is one of the more awkward challenges for a writer. The cleverer your final reveal is going to be, the more difficult it becomes to allow your characters to reveal themselves interestingly earlier in the book. The use of the young girl is also execrated because there is little interaction between any women at all in the book - wouldn’t there be female friends? There is a woman associated with the police but she disappears shortly afterwards and is only there for the men to talk about each other.
