About this deal

I would highly recommend looking at the rest of the TX shoe range to see if there is something that could fit your needs. They come in several colour options (mine being the carbon/flame combo), they do a mid-version of the TX4 for added ankle protection and an unlined version for dry environments that will ultimately be more breathable. As to whether they are suitable for a trip to the local after a day in the mountains, that is completely up to you, taste in fashion is subjective isn’t it? Gore-Tex membrane : Shoes made with a Gore-Tex membrane are designed for use in rain, snow and cold weather. They combine durable waterproofing with improved breathability and optimal insulation against the cold, making them ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities. The slightly large fit and wide toe box—built for comfort and stability—may be too roomy for those with low-volume or narrow feet.

The soles of the TX4 are made by Vibram, the leading manufacturer of soles for climbers, hikers and walkers. Be sure to choose a water resistant material for your waterproof hiking boots or mountaineering boots with insulation features for when the seasons change. Hiking Shoes The material you choose on your mountaineering boots or hiking shoes affects how well your foot breathes, water resistance, and the overall weight of your boots. The waterproof hiking boots upper could be either full-grain or split-grain leather, or entirely a synthetic material.Lacing: Mythos patented lacing system, very low to ensure better foot support and optimal adjustment of the shoe volume For waterproof hiking boots, you can also factor in water-resistance, stability and warmth. You do not want to go hiking, only to get frostbites from the cold. Leather can wet out and grow heavy and misshapen with extended exposure to rain or snow. You can apply waterproofing products, but keep in mind that they will impact breathability. In our Hereford shop we offer a professional boot fitting service where we assess your feet, find a selection of boots that match you foot shape and most importantly we make sure that they are comfortable. This iseasy to do in the shop, where we have access tothe right tools, the option of letting you try on as many styles as you like and a knowledgeable member of staff that cancommunicate directly with you regarding your needs.

The TX4 is both a reliable hiking shoe and a flexible pair of climbing shoes in terms of its design. The lacing, which is very typical of climbing and La Sportiva models, and the slim fit are assets. They look good because the laces are coloured to contrast with the fabric. The soles are turned inwards, which makes them more ergonomic. These shoe are developed specifically for mens feet. For the women's model see the La Sportiva TX4 women. A Hybrid Design TX4 is a sturdy “built to last” boot, thanks to the STB Control System™ that provides structure and torsion stability. The hard wearing leather uppers have an essential design and are high abrasion resistance thanks to the PU TechLite all-around rand: The Vibram MegaGrip sole with climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear are designed for climbing routes and return trails on technical terrain. The lacing system derives from the Mythos climbing shoe and regulates tension and internal volume in one easy move. Traverse X the ultimate expression of moving in the mountains in comfort, speed and safety. and adaptability in heel hooks when bouldering. High abrasion resistance and reduced weights thanks to the PU TechLite rand and rubber toe for extra protection, Vibram MegaGrip sole with Impact Brake System at the rear, Trail Bite Heel enhances the downhill grip. Climbing zone at the toe for climbing routes and return trails. The La Sportiva TX4 GTX Approach Shoes is a rugged and sturdy, with uppers made of hard-wearing leather and their PU Tech Lite rand giving it enhanced torsion, stability and a “built to last” appearance. You get an aggressive, in your face sole unit provided in this instance by the industry leaders Vibram. The sole unit meets a rubber toe box that looks like it could belong to a climbing shoe and even includes a climbing zone/edge for precision footwork, and a “break” system to assist on steep exists. The comparison to climbing shoes doesn’t stop here though, with a lacing system taken from their Mythos climbing model that offers better volume and tension control throughout the length of the shoe.Leather shoe with Gore-Tex Extended Comfort designed for technical approach routes and via ferrata, part of the Traverse X approach series . . . Every detail has been studied to guarantee grip, comfort and protection during approach routes and to encourage technical use right up to the base of the wall.

Stand on the A4 paper with your heel pressed firmly against the wall and your foot pointed forward with the edge of your big toe aligned with the edge of the paper. Vibram Megagrip® insole: The Vibram sole improves grip and stability on rough terrain and provides an optimal balance between performance and durability. Compared to the mesh upper of the TX3 or canvas upper of the Evolv Cruzer Psyche, the TX4’s leather boosts the shoe’s climbing ability significantly by adding protection, rigidity, and a close fit. Comparatively, the leather Five Ten Guide Tennie offers a slightly tighter fit and more streamlined toe box for technical precision, but these climbing-specific features detract from comfort and protection on the trail.La Sportiva's TX4 GTX are a classic approach shoe made with a solid sole, leather outer and Gore-Tex lining. They feature everything you want in an approach shoe with extended rubber bumpers around the toes, along the sides and up the heels. A strong, effective lacing system allows you to get the most comfortable fit and the large pull loop on the heel makes getting them on much easier too. The Gore-Tex lining helps keep out the wet on the walk in but obviously with a shoe that is this low cut water can (and does) get over the tops easily. NOTE: The above table is only a guide. Manufactures don’t like tomake it easy as every single oneof them strays from the measurements above. The ultimate outdoor companions - with Mega-Grip™ technology to enhance your footing and grip, the La Sportiva TX4 GTX approach shoes are designed for a low-to-the-ground feel, to maximise your performance whether you're on a well-trodden approach trail, or scrambling through boulders off-trail. At Addnature, we integrate firmer, cushier and lighter soles into our hiking boots and waterproof hiking boots to protect your feet during these outdoor adventures. Mountaineering Boots

Cushioning under the heel is moderate and as I would expect from an approach shoe while the mid and front areas only have light cushioning. It’s worth remembering that this isn’t a general hiking boot so I wouldn’t expect it to be as heavy or have as much padding. I’d always considered myself a “Boot Man”, but recently I’ve been tempted by a lighter more flexible option for the hills. Having spent the summer legging it round the Welsh mountains like a lemming in what you would call “Full Boots”, I’ve come to the conclusion that on the right terrain and in right weather conditions, less is more…. La Sportivahave transferred their knowledge from stiffer mountain boots into their approach range, naming it their STBControl System. Essentially, the upper wraps around the midsoleat the middle of the shoe which enhances stability on traverses and rough terrain. This also provides a more supportive and snug fit, in turn increasing the comfort and precision while climbing.

La Sportiva set the standards in approach shoe design with their Boulder X model. It was the go-to shoe for climbers looking to upgrade their approach shoe collection, or even to replace their battered 5-year-old Boulder X – we even know of people hoarding pairs of Boulder X in fear that they might one day become discontinued. The TX4 GTX is a shoe that offers excellent stability, good grip and effective protection on the front of the shoe with its rubber toe cap In addition, a wide protective edge wraps around the shoe to protect you from impacts. Its low lacing allows the foot to be well wrapped for good precision, better foot support and more comfort. Every detail of the TX4 has been refined to guarantee grip, comfort and protection during crag approaches. The hard wearing leather uppers are an essential design component and have high abrasion resistance being protected by the PU TechLite all-around rand. The Vibram MegaGrip sole has climbing zone at the toe and Impact Brake System at the rear and is designed for climbing easier routes and descents on technical terrain. The lacing system derives from the Mythos climbing shoe and regulates tension and internal volume in one easy move. High resistance to abrasion and low weight is provided thanks to the PU Techlite rand and protective rubber top cap.
