About this deal

Fourth layer: 1 inch of high-density support foam. This is the first of two similar base layers that Apollo uses to provide consistent support across the bed. This limits sinkage to the ideal depth – enough to accommodate the needs of side sleepers and curvier body types, but not so much that it puts a strain on muscles or affects proper spinal alignment. Foam density: 1.8 lbs/ft 3. First layer: 2 inches of high-density CopperGel™ memory foam. This cushioning top layer is infused with two cooling agents – micro gel beads and antimicrobial copper. It contributes to the immediate pressure relief and slow body contouring you experience as you lie down on the mattress. Foam density: 3.6 lbs/ft 3. After rolling around on this bed, I decided to give it a 6/10 on the firmness scale. When compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness, it’s clear that this bed is definitely on the softer side. Basically, it works like this: I roll out the device, hop aboard, and let the map do the rest. As I roll around, the map records how much force I’m exerting on the mattress, creating a colored “map” of the pressure. For reference, blue indicates areas of low pressure and red indicates areas of high pressure. I was impressed with the Apollo’s ability to relieve pressure Average Weight Sleepers– Average-weight side sleepers should experience a deeper hug as the top memory foam layer allows more sinkage, especially for those closer to 230 pounds.

Automatic Pressure Control System monitors and adjusts the mattress pressure to maintain pressures at the set level. Hip Pain– Those with shoulder pain usually focus on softer mattresses, but even a medium firm can help relieve the pain. The Apollo mattress has that mid-range firmness to keep the body aligned, but its memory foam layers offer a cradle that helps relieve pain in the hip area. However, side sleepers with hip pain may want a softer bed. Lightweight Sleepers– Lightweight stomach sleepers should experience this bed as firmer, which is likely to feel good in the hip area even with a bit of contouring around the pressure points. If you’re in the market for a memory foam mattress that sleeps cool, the Apollo could be a fantastic fit. Not only does it feature all the great sinkage, body-contouring, and pressure relief of the popular material, but it does so without overheating at night. The Apollo Mattress is a premium option that uses several unique material combinations to create a one-of-a-kind feel. This mattress uses its layers differently. First, layers of cooling foams create a surface that is cold to the touch, providing better temperature control and moving heat away from you as you sleep. The layer of transition foam in the middle of the mattress uses edge support foam to bolster the edges. Finally, two different support layers are used in this mattress. First, you’ll find a layer of micro-coils for better balance and support. Beneath this is a layer of dual-layered high-density support foam to add additional balance. The Wired Floor+ Alertamatcan be connectedto a nurse call system with a 3 metre cable provided for centralised activation, or used on its own, independent of a nurse call system to give localised alerts through the Alerta Alarm Monitor (sold separately). Audio and visual alarms to differentiate between low pressure, power failure and system failure errors Though the softness of the Apollo could be great for side sleepers, it’s probably not going to work for stomach sleepers. These folks prefer firmer structures that help lift the hips in alignment with the shoulders. A Transport Mode facility is achieved by sealing the connector on the umbilical cord with the transport cap. The Transport Mode can be used for up to 8 hours to ensure that the support surface provides pressure redistribution in power outages or when transportation is required. Let’s wrap up this section with a look at motion transfer, which refers to the amount of movement detectable from one side of the bed to the other. All sleepers will want to pay attention to this feel factor, though it will probably be most relevant for those who share their bed with a partner.

The transition layer is also made of memory foam. Although it has a similar feel as the comfort layer, there are gel infusions instead of copper. The open-cell design promotes airflow to prevent the bed from overheating. Second layer: 2 inches of 5G open-cell memory foam. It works with the layers above and below to reduce motion transfer. Foam density: 2.5 lbs/ft 3. Apollo offers a 15-year warranty on each mattress. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship or manufacturing. The warranty is very particular about which types of defects are covered. Your warranty may be void if the mattress has spills, stains, cuts, or tears on the cover or the foam inside. If you use the Apollo mattress without a compatible frame, it can also void the warranty. Open-cell Memory Foam with Edge Support. This unique layer of fifth-generation open-cell memory foam offers better pressure relief than other transition foam layers. The open-cell structure allows for better airflow and great relief all over your body. A perimeter of edge support foam helps keep the edges supported. Edge support outside of the coil layer is unusual, but it works well here. Nothing does pressure relief as well as memory foam, so it’s no surprise this bed is a great option for those with pressure buildup. Pressure tends to build up in the hips, shoulders, and knees, depending on your preferred sleeping position. The Apollo mattress does a good job of alleviating the pressure by cushioning these areas, offering a gentle contour to a deep hug, depending on your body weight.

The Apollo II pump automatically detects which compatible dynamic surface has been connected and will adjust the pressure setting accordingly. Max Inflate Mode automatically inflates all cells to the maximum pressure setting for 20 minutes. This can be beneficial when moving or repositioning a patient. Heavyweight Sleepers– Heavy side sleepers may want to consider a firmer bed because memory foam in the Apollo mattress is likely too soft to keep the body aligned.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear from use, a normal softness increase that is usually present as mattresses age, or any body indentations of less than 1″ during the first 10 years of use. If your mattress doesn’t work for you because of health concerns or comfort preferences, you should try to return it within the sleep trial period. The warranty will not cover these issues, either. Now that we’ve discussed the Apollo’s firmness, let’s test it out for two more attributes: Pressure Relief and Motion Transfer. Pressure Relief The next layer uses open-cell memory foam to produce better airflow. Then, finally, we come to the micro-coil layer. The micro coils allow for more airflow throughout the core of the mattress, reducing any heat build-up from reaching the lowest levels of the mattress. As a result, even the deepest levels of this mattress will be cooler. These coils even help move the cooler air up to you, reducing the temperature at the surface of the mattress. To get more specific about what the Apollo has to offer, let’s chat about its unique construction! The Apollo Mattress in the Sleepopolis bedroom What is the Apollo Mattress Made Of? The Apollo Mattress presents a unique construction. This mattress uses layers of coils, high-density support foam, and more to provide a unique feel that is suitable for most sleepers. The mattress includes 20 cells consisting of 3 static head cells and 17 alternating cells. Individual cell's 'air on air' construction reduces the risk of 'bottoming out' as the lower section of each cell remains inflated to provide a supportive base.
