Description

i) Overall winner for each age group, for all Junior League games at that age group and combining East & West, as follows: Games will normally be played on Monday evening, with a prompt 6 pm start with 4 (or 6) teams assembling and playing a round robin format with two (or three) pitches cut on the outfield to play two (or three) matches at the same time. Each team plays 2 matches per match day. Its effectively a mini stand-alone Tournament and most host teams put complimentary food on post-match.

Match cancellations are for weather/pitch reasons only and should be communicated to the opposition in sufficient time to prevent travel where possible. Junior Cup fixtures lost for such reason must be rearranged within the play-by date. In the event of two or more clubs finishing on equal points at the top of a league table, the championship shall be decided by a play off. According to the laws the umpires are the sole judges of fair and unfair play. The umpires may intervene at any time, and it is the responsibility of the team manager to take action where required.Each club is responsible for appointing a competent scorer and umpire for each match, with any regular persons having received some form of training to enable them to carry out their duties effectively.

i) Overs are reduced by 1 over every 3 minutes when off the field. Minimum overs that can be played in first innings is 10. Once game starts that will determine the set number of overs for the 1st innings which will not be reduced upon further interruptions, except by reason of rule 7c. From the under 11 age group upwards scorers shall use the cricHQ system for all matches and this shall be done with the scoring app(wherever possible scorers are encouraged to “live” score) , and scores uploaded no later than 24 hours from the end of the match. It shall be the home team’s responsibility to ensure that results are uploaded, where necessary following up with the opposition scorer. Players and team officials shall not use crude/ and or abusive language (known as sledging) nor make offensive gestures or hand signals nor deliberately distract an opponent. In the event of any player failing to comply with the instruction of an umpire, criticising his decision by word or action, showing dissent or generally behaving in a manner which might bring the game into disrepute, the umpire concerned shall in the first instance report the matter to the other umpire and to the player’s team manager, requesting the latter to take action. If a team fails to honour a fixture it will receive no points and the opposition will be awarded 2 points as for a winning team unless the teams agree to reschedule the fixture.Batsman are to retire and may not return when they have reached the run limit applicable to relevant age group. If the last scoring stroke takes a batsman past any stated retirement mark the extra runs are to be credited. In the u13, u15 and u18 Junior Cup the rules shall be as for the Junior League, except that there shall be no retirements and in the event of a tie the team managers shall agree upon the method for determining a result, choosing from a super-over, a bowl-out or a replay (a replay only being possible if there is sufficient time to complete the replay by the play-by date). In the event that a scheduled replay cannot be fulfilled due to weather then the result shall be determined by a bowl-out or toss of a coin, as agreed by the team managers. or 135g for junior players up to and including under 13. A tolerance is allowed though and the weight of a junior ball must be in the range of 133g to 144g i) on a Sunday morning, 10.00 start, but be mindful to finished at least 1 hour before any senior fixture and be prepared to move earlier should it be deemed necessary. Players and team officials must at all times accept the umpire’s decision. Players must not show dissent at the umpire’s decision or react in a provocative or disapproving manner towards another player or spectator.
