Julian: Although, oddly enough, your trailer is prompting me to do some Doomlord stuff. I haven’t thought about that for years, but I began to wonder what I could do now, with those same ideas, and discussions I had with the editor. Doomlord: Deathlords of Nox is a restored collection of a major early Doomlord arc that synopsises the first 3 Doomlord photo stories. When Eagle was revived in the 1980s, it initially featured a number of fumetti-style photo strips, and “Doomlord” was the most popular of them all. Almost 40 years on, it’s still fondly remembered – but who played the characters who featured in the strip – and where might you find Doomlord’s mask today, if at all?

Despite some similarities, Grant would deny the character was consciously influenced by Judge Death. Tomlinson and Eagle editor Dave Hunt found the costume for the character after scouring London's theatrical and fancy dress shops., [2] At the time, Grant and Wagner contributed so many scripts to IPC titles that managing director John Sanders requested they use pseudonyms to disguise some of their work, choosing 'Grant Grover' for "Doomlord". [3] Grant later recalled "We had such a laugh when writing it... My abiding memories are seeing the early Doomlord scripts in photo-strip and being blown away... I guess that a rubber joke-shop mask and a set of robes made Doomlord really stand out!". [2]

BT: I think we used it just as it was, as far as I can remember. We had to darken in the actor’s eye area, as the eye holes were very large. I don’t know where it is now. Mike offers his memories of working for Eagle comic… and, indeed, on the likes of Doctor Who and Star Wars. Julian: The boards for the planets, you mean? Not specifically, they were just big sheets of mounting board that were pliable enough to get a nicer bend on them. I usually wedged the board between two buffers to force the bend.

We added the option to the hunt window that you can answer quiz questions in advance, when not hunting. Energy harness has been improved, now it gives the same amount of SE whether your opponent is at 20% or 100% on your duel list. Also, on world 3, if the SE you would get with EH is more than the normal maximum, you will get the EH SE.

There is no reward for clans, only for individuals. In each category the top 3 gets a medal of glory, which increases SE received for hunts. If you win in several categories, you will still get only 1 medal. Shaqui le Vesconte and others have suggested Doomlord’s collar is very similar to those seen in the Space: 1999 episode Devil’s Planet , presumably hired. The costume design on that episode (and others) was the work of Emma Porteous. Interestingly, she ended up working on costumes on the 1995 Judge Dredd film (alongside Gianni Versace, credited with the Dredd armour design), Clash of the Titans (1981) and some Bond films. He convinced the Council that the death judgement was wrong and to lift the sentence of death from Earth; however his crimes against Nox meant he was returned to Earth in exile.
