The story started back in April 2018 when Beat SCAD Trustee Karen Rockell secured a speaking opportunity for the charity at a meeting of 40 Lead Midwife Educators in London.

During her career, Myles contributed as an author to various academic journals in Britain, Canada and the United States. Having received a midwifery teacher's diploma in London 1939, she became a midwifery tutor to the new Simson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in the Scottish capital, where she practised until her retirement in 1954.
