faceplate screw can be re-used in most cases even if the thread has been damaged as the Back Box Saver has been designed to overcome this problem. When fixing I had to stick my finger in to hold product in place while screwing because it was very stiff to screw in at the start.

If you cannot find the information that you require please leave a post in the DIY Forum as one of the many Forum members may be able to help. This enables face plate levelling if the clip isn’t positioned exactly in the centre of the box, this replicates the feature of all UK metal back boxes. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.Back Box Saver allows the back box still to be used, by overlaying a reinforced nut onto the stripped lug to provide a secure fixing for the screw to engage.

Once you have IP protection for the idea, try it out with as many potential users as you can, in as many varied applications as you can. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. the only area you can put these on, is the flat edge of the nut, where it would contact the back of the original lug. I could have done the job instead with a polythene nut (available from Europe - I haven't been able to source them in the UK) and BluTak.It allows a standard switch or socket to fit into its electrical back box when the threads on the back box have become damaged, whilst providing the additional facility to raise or lower or tilt the faceplate, as required. This section has hundreds of instructional videos showing how to do the easiest of DIY related jobs right up to a full bathroom refurbishment. Back Box Saver Solution: Back Box Saver allows the back box still to be used, by overlaying a reinforced nut onto the stripped lug to provide a secure fixing for the screw to engage.

Don't forget - you might need to strip the existing thread (in the backbox) before you use this, otherwise it probably won't work.In the end I used blu-tack to create enough grip to hold the new nut in place behind the lug, and then made a big blu-tac plug to hold everything in place when I put the switch plate back. There are a lot of other products out there but not sure if the those can be installed on metal boxes set in block/plaster walls like the one I have?
