While I don't resonate with it as well as I do a few other decks, and I don't tend to intuit as much with it, that's just a personal reaction. Based on the name, I was expecting the edges to be gilded but they're not - a missed opportunity, I feel. Regarding the Minor Arcana cards, this oval has a color that represents each suit: Red for Wands, Orange for Cups, Blue for Swords, and Green for Pentacles. This technique encourages a personal connection with the deck and fosters a unique and intuitive reading experience. We see this in cards such as the Wheel of Fortune, which has a mechanical base moving the Wheel; and in the Star, where we see a mechanical base upholding a globe of the world.

There are several useful spreads presented at the end of the book, including various versions of the Three Card spread (Past/Present/Future, Body/Mind/Spirit, and Choices); the Celtic Cross spread and a spread by Katie Vyvyan entitled the daily spread, which I found intriguing. Gives good solid advice on both the upright and the reversed cards—with a couple of new angles I've incorporated into my usual Waite interpretations. They are a bit thinner than a lot of other Tarot decks on the market but not so thin that they can't be used. Combining the Rider-Waite Tarot system's familiar imagery with Ciro Marchetti's exquisite artwork, this stand-alone deck is a valuable tool for any reader.
