Little Comberton tree felling

CROWDS of villagers gathered in Little Comberton on Wednesday as an historic cedar in St Peter’s Churchyard was finally given the chop.

A team of experts spent the day felling the 80-foot high tree which had been deemed dangerous to both members of the public and the church building after several large boughs had fallen off.

A large quantity of the wood is being sold to help defray the cost of the felling operation, though some is being kept and being turned into something appropriate to remember the tree by.
