Jake hopes to raise £20,000 by visiting Olympic venues by bike

A 12-year-old boy has begun a gruelling cycling challenge which will see him cover 2,012km.

Jake Phipps, of Kersoe, near Elmley Castle, will visit every Olympic venue from Glasgow to London during his five-week trip.

If that wasn’t enough he is also aiming to raise £20,012 for Action for Children and Access Sport along the way.

The trip began last week in Glasgow and from Friday to Sunday, June 22 – 24, Jake and his team will be passing through the Vale.

As he travels he will also visit schools to talk to pupils and teachers about his challenge and his chosen charities.

Jake’s mum, Nic Phipps, and family friend Philip Woods will join Jake on the trip.
